The Mendocino National Forest is recruiting firefighters for the 2024 wildfire season. The typical season runs from May through November. A Eureka man has been found guilty in Mendocino County Court of committing arson in a business park earlier in the year. Benjamin Ervin James Dimmick was also found guilty of burglary. Dimmick is due for a second trial in January. Sentencing will be considered after that trial.
