At the last meeting of the Mendocino City Council, the board discussed the possibility of adding a sales tax measure to the November ballot. A look ahead shows that the city could be operating in the red within the next five years, and the .375% addition in sales tax, which would bring total sales tax to its cap of 9.25% would generate an additional $800,000 a year.
