Man Who Brutally Murdered Another Up for Parole

A man convicted of the brutal murder of a Redwood Valley Water District employee in 1993 may be paroled. The Mendocino County DA’s office in a statement said that 53-year-old Troy Harden was eligible for parole and approved due to changes in the law, where those serving life sentences whose crimes were committed while they were under the age of 26 are considered youthful offenders and have special parole standards. The Parole Board’s final decision must now go through a review process and a separate review by the Governor.
