High Surf Advisory Continues for Mendocino Coast

A high surf warning continues for Mendocino Coast, Coastal Del Norte, and Southwestern Humboldt counties through this evening. Breaking waves can sweep people off jetties and docks, and create life-threatening surfing conditions. Mariners traversing the bar are urged to exercise extreme caution or stay in port until the threat subsides.

Lake County Jobless Rate Up From Last Month

The state’s jobless rate, including that in Lake County, rose slightly in November.  The state rose one-tenth of a percent and in Lake County rose from 5.7% in October to 6.1% in November, the highest since March, which was 6.4.

Wind Advisory and High Surf Warnings

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Mendocino Coast and Northwestern Interior from this morning through this afternoon. Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
