A new long period swell is coming this afternoon, bringing sneaker waves and high tides, and big tidal swings through tomorrow along the Mendocino coast. Sneaker waves can move across the beach without warning, sweeping people into the sea from rocks, jetties and beaches, carrying large objects capable of crushing anyone caught underneath.
