Hill and Bank Fires in Clearlake

Firefighters knocked down several small vegetation fires on both sides of Clear Lake yesterday. The Hill Fire burned about seven acres while the Bank Fire burned about three. The southbound lane of Hwy 29 near Mockingbird Lane was closed for a short time.

Lakeport Appoints Interim Community Development Director

The Lake County Board of Supervisors has appointed an interim Community Development Department director, following the sudden departure of Mary Dalby. Mireya Turner was appointed effective immediately. Turner has served the City Council since 2014, previously serving as the deputy director of community development.

Lakefront Park Project Contract Awarded

The Lakeport City Council has voted to award the contract for the Lakefront Park construction project. The process had been delayed due to issues with the bid selection process. The vote was 3-1 with Councilman Mark Green voting no and Mayor Mattina recusing to award the contract to Builder Solutions, Inc.
