The Lake County Board of Supervisors meets today to consider approval of a local state of emergency declaration in response to the continued snow storms. The board will also consider the candidates for the position of County Counsel and the recruitment process for the position of Behavioral Health Director for the county.
The continuing snowy weather is having an impact on Lake County Public Services. Residential and commercial garbage service for South Lake Refuse and Recycling as well as Lake County Waste Solutions is canceled. The Eastlake Landfill in Clearlake is also closed.
The warming center at the Middletown Senior Center will be open again tonight. Lower Lake Town Hall will also be open. Sunrise Services Foundation is also running a warming center in Lakeport.
A winter weather advisory is in effect through tomorrow night for the Mendocino coast. Expect scattered hail showers with possible accumulations on roads. Wet snow is expected above 500 feet.
