The Lake Local Area Formation Commission voted unanimously on Tuesday to stop the city of Lakeport’s South Lakeport annexation, since it failed to receive a majority vote in the November election. LAFCo will have to wait a year to resubmit.

The City of Ukiah has been awarded just under $54 million for expansion of its water recycling project. The grant from The California State Water Resources Control Board will reduce the city’s reliance on Lake Mendocino, the Russian River and groundwater for irrigation purposes.
The Army Corps of Engineers, for the first time in four years, has announced it will hold a series of water releases from the Coyote Valley Dam at Lake Mendocino starting mid-day today. Higher water levels in the reservoir and better conditions downstream on the Russian River allow for the releases.
