The U.S. Department of Ag has approved a temporary waiver that will allow those with SNAP or CalFresh benefits to buy hot foods through the end of the month. TheLakeCountyNews reports that due to the recent storms and flooding, stores licensed by the Food and Nutrition Service and in Lake and Mendocino counties among others, will be able to continue to accept SNAP benefits for hot foods and food intended to be consumed on the retailer’s premises.
