A man who was arrested previously for an incident involving a standoff with police has been arrested again for elder abuse and criminal threats. Joshua Caleb “Buck” Brown, was taken into custody without incident early Wednesday morning. His bond was set at $115,000 and he is due to be arraigned today.
A Kelseyville resident has been reappointed by the Governor to serve on the North Coastal Regional Water Quality Control Board. Greg Guisti has served on the board since 2013 and is the director advisor emeritus for the University of California Cooperative Extension.

The Willits Police Department is facing criticism after it took multiple phone calls requesting assistance that arrived two hours after an argument that ended in gunfire at a gas station on Main Street late last week. Police Chief Fabian Lizarraga described the incident as a communications breakdown on both sides.
The Board of Supervisors voted yesterday to appoint Jonathan Portney as the county’s new Health Services Director, filling a vacancy left by Denise Pomeroy, who resigned in October in the face of a potential termination action. Portney’s appointment is effective Jan. 10.
