Bald Eagle’s Nest in Potter Valley Gets Reprieve From Destruction

A decades old bald eagle’s nest in a pine tree in Potter Valley has received a reprieve from destruction. The tree was due to be cut down by PG&E, as it presented a hazard to a nearby power line. However, the permit to do so obtained by PG&E had expired. Removal of the tree and destruction of the nest has caused considerable outcry among local tribes and Congressman Jared Huffman. The hope is that PG&E can be convinced to bury the powerline in the tree’s vicinity.
