The Clearlake Police Department is searching for a man in connection to a New Year’s Day shooting. 31-year-old Jose Ceja-Torres, of Clearlake, is wanted for the felony violations of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The victim is a 41-year-old Clearlake resident.

The death of an inmate at the Lake County Jail is being investigated. Officials say 46-year-old Daniel King, of Clearlake, who was in custody while awaiting transfer to a state prison, died after being found unresponsive in his cell. There were no signs of trauma and COVID-19 does not appear to be a factor.
