Freezer Failure Prompts Emergency Vaccine Clinic

A freezer failure at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley prompted an emergency vaccine clinic yesterday afternoon. According to the chief medical officer for Adventist Health, the freezer died, and an alarm to alert staff about the failure also didn’t go off. Once it was noticed, the vaccine was in danger of thawing. The city was contacted and a team supervised by the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority, were able to administer all the doses by 2PM.
