Adventist Health Mendocino Coast will be hosting a free Sports Physicals and Back-to-School Fair on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the hospital. The event will include free physicals for youth athletes as well as backpacks and other school supplies for students on a first come, first served basis.
Clear Lake High School is offering physicals for athletes for the upcoming 2022-23 sports season today and again next Thursday, Aug. 4. The mandatory physicals will be administered in the high school gym beginning at 6 p.m. both days. The cost is $20.
A fire that burned two vehicles Thursday night on Talmage Road in Ukiah is being investigated by the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority. At their meeting earlier in the week, the Clearlake Council approved a contract that would enable the city’s police department to assist the Lakeport Police Department with law enforcement services on an overtime basis while the department is understaffed. The contract would begin providing that help starting Friday.
