The Lake County Library’s Summer Reading program starts tomorrow. Registration for the program is open through August 5th at library.lakecountyca.gov. Supersignups will be this Saturday at all branches.
High school graduations have begun across Lake County. Carle High, Lakeport Alternative, Natural High, and Richard H. Lewis all have their commencement ceremonies this evening. Konocti Education Center will graduate tomorrow night and Friday evening Clear Lake High, Middletown High, Upper Lake High and Lower Lake High all celebrate commencement Friday evening.

A major insurer has stopped taking new applications for fire insurance in the state. Clearlake Police say tomorrow Lakeshore will be closed from Olympic Drive to Pomo Drive from around 9 to 10 am. The southbound lane will be open to one-way traffic only. Pomo Road from Lakeshore to Arrowhead will also be closed around the same time.

Events at the Lake County Fairgrounds were marred by a large fight on Sunday night. TheLakeCountyNews reports CHP responded along with other law enforcement just before 10 pm. Joseph Simpson Nelson of Ukiah was seriously injured and was airlifted to Kaiser Vacaville for treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact law enforcement.

The Mendocino Coast’s only county-run animal shelter in Fort Bragg is closing. TheMendoVoice reports shelter officials say the closure may happen on or before July 1st as a cost-cutting measure.
