The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist CAL FIRE and the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority in a vegetation fire on Vichy Springs Road in Ukiah yesterday approximately 12:50 PM. MCSO says the fire was quickly controlled because of the quick response from ground and air fire personnel.
While Lake County’s COVID-19 case rate has dropped, it’s still among the highest in the state. During a meeting yesterday with the Board of Supervisors, health officials said Lake County currently has a case rate of 53 per 100,000, which is the 4th highest in the state.
Clearlake’s mayor is urging city staff to get vaccinated. During last week’s City Council meeting, Mayor Dirk Slooten said his wife recently contracted COVID-19, even though they both have been vaccinated. Because his wife has immune deficiency issues, her doctor said she might have died without the vaccine.
