The cities of Clearlake and Lakeport as well as school boards, special districts, and water and fire districts all have positions that expire at the end of the year. Anyone who wishes to run for a county office must file a declaration of candidacy form and nomination papers starting Febuary 14 and no later than March 11th to be listed on the June primary ballot. Anyone wishing to file for city offices must file between July 18th and August 12th.
