Giving Tuesday saw 40 Valley Oak saplings that were started from acorns by students planted in Riverside Park. Earlier in the month, the Community Foundation of Mendocino County awarded grants to support animal welfare in Mendocino County. The Animal Welfare Grant Program has provided $208,000 to 13 organizations in the county, including the Humane Society for Inland Mendocino and the Mendocino Coast Humane Society.
