MedStar Ambulance Service Gets Go-Ahead From City of Ukiah

MedStar Ambulance service has been given the go-ahead by the city of Ukiah to operate from a North State Street address. The city heard the application for a permit to use two buildings on State Street as a base for the non-emergency ambulance service and dispatch center. The service will have basic life support units responding from that location, which means no lights or sirens will be used. The permit stipulates that if MedStar were to dispatch advanced life support ambulances from that location, lights, and sirens would only be used once the vehicles are on State Street, which alleviated public concern about noise.
