First Responders Participate in “Trauma Expo” Training

Last Friday, emergency responders got as close to real life training as possible at the Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, during Trauma Expo, put on for first responders and hospital staff to recreate real life emergency situations and learn what each profession does in case of an emergency. Local residents volunteered to be “patients”, including teens and children, appearing with a variety of injuries and issues. The use of young people in this kind of training is especially helpful, as they respond differently to physical injuries. The exercise gave everyone a different perspective of emergency treatment, hopefully making for better treatment at all levels in a real emergency.
