Fate of Popular Winery In the Hands of A Judge

The fate of a very popular Ukiah Valley Winery is now in the hands of a judge. On the weekends, Rivino Winery is busy with everyday folk rubbing elbows with community leaders, all enjoying the fruits of Rivino’s vines. But now a complicated divorce proceeding in Mendocino County Superior Court is the focus of attention. Suzanne Jahnke and her husband, Jason McConnell purchased Rivino from Jahnke’s father’s estate in 2013. Jahnke put McConnell on the deed to Rivino and the property, making it community property. Judge Cindee Mayfield says that although McConnell has run the winery, the primary residence is on Rivino property and Jahnke is entitled to that and all the winery property as it was her father’s before her. If the judge rules in favor of Jahnke, McConnell says he’ll continue to fight. In the end, the fate of a popular Ukiah establishment hangs in the balance.
