City of Ukiah Facing Shortfall Due to Reduced Sales Tax Revenue

Ukiah city officials are expecting a $1 million dollar revenue shortfall from sales tax charged on cannabis due to reduced sales. Mendofever reports Ukiah’s Deputy City Manager Sahnnon Riley says this year’s budget will be more needs than wants. The city’s overall sales tax revenue dipped by 9.5% in the 4th quarter of last year with holiday shopping declining.
