The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will have new headquarters in north Lakeport next to the county jail, thanks to federal money from the recent 2023 government funding bill. Last year, the county traded 15 acres in Clearlake to the state in exchange for the Lakeport Armory property. Retired Sheriff Brian Martin and Congressman Mike Thompson were on hand to receive a check for just over $988,000.
