Drought in Parts of the Area Easing Slightly

While most of the state is in a drought, this past year has been a better year for Lake County when it comes to rainfall. Although the county is still in extreme drought, the rain from the Fall and Winter are improving conditions. Clear Lake has risen nearly a foot and a half since the second week of December according to a USGS gauge on the lake. Fall and Winter have also improved the state’s snowpack, with the Sierras all over their yearly average by at least half.
