Husband Enter Guilty Pleas in Willits Woman’s Death

A Willits man has entered a guilty plea to a felony voluntary manslaughter in the death of his wife in March of 2020. 23-year-old Tavion Jamel James Johnson, , withdrew a not guilty plea to killing 49-year-old Elenah Louise Elston. The Mendocino County DA’s Offices says Johnson also entered a guilty plea in Mendocino County Superior Court to a separate felony charge of inflicting traumatic injuries on a domestic partner because of a prior conviction in 2019 against the victim. He’ll be sentenced this month.
