The destructive Hopkins Fire in Calpella has been declared an arson and an arrest has been made. Investigators say surveillance footage from a nearby business shows the suspect start the fire Sunday afternoon on Hopkins Street near the Moore Street Bridge. Police have arrested 20-year-old Devin Johnson. He’s charged with violating his probation and three separate charges of arson. The Hopkins Fire burned 257 acres and is 60 percent contained. Several structures were destroyed, though officials haven’t given a firm number yet.
