The Lakeport Police Department is staffing a full time School Resource Police Officer on the campuses of the Lakeport Unified School District. The officer assigned is Officer Aaron Hodges who attended Lakeport Schools and is a graduate of Clear Lake High School. LPD says the program has been made possible by a funding partnership between the LUSD School Board and the Lakeport City Council. All involved officials believe that placement of a police officer on the school grounds in the city will greatly enhance the safety of all students, staff and visitors on the campuses.
