Mendocino County Woman Tries to Steal a Horse

A Mendocino County woman is facing a grand theft charge for stealing a horse in Willits. Witnesses said the suspect, Makayla McGrew, trespassed on the property and was seen getting on a saddled horse. She tried to ride off but was stopped by a person at the property.

Identity of Clearlake Man Killed in Crash Released

The California Highway Patrol released the name of the Clearlake man killed in a crash Sunday evening. The crash happened on Highway 20 in Colusa County. CHP says 57-year-old Roman Calderon, crossed the double yellow lines and crashed head on with an oncoming vehicle. Calderon was ejected from his pickup and died at the scene. … Read more

Lakeport Police Department Implements Police Dog Program

The Lakeport Police Department has been without a police dog since 2009, but they’ve implemented a new program with Police K-9 Olin and his handler, Officer Kaylene Strugnell. Olin is trained in narcotic detection including methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine, as well as patrol certification including suspect tracking and apprehension.
