CalFire to Continue Prescribed Burns in Hopland

CalFire will continue prescribed burns at the University of California Hopland Research and Extension Center. Two burns of 60 acres each are planned and may continue through Friday. HREC staff has been calling neighbors to let them know about the burns.

Ukiah Man Convicted of Multiple Counts of Vandalism

A Ukiah man has been convicted of several counts of vandalism. Jesus Anthony Herrera, 41, was convicted of three felony counts of vandalism and a misdemeanor count of aggravated trespass in March of 2024 and 2024. His next court date is set for Thursday, the 31st.

Lake County Burn Ban to Be Lifted On Friday

Lake County Jobless Rate Down Slightly

Lake County’s jobless rate improved in September. The Employment Development Department reports Lake County saw 5.5% unemployment in September, down from 6.1% in August. Mendocino County Gets Funding for Road Work Projects

Thanks to funding by the California Transportation Commission, Mendocino County will soon see road repairs and upgrades. Repairs to the Long Valley Creek Bridge near Laytonville, upgrades to the Ukiah and Boonville maintenance stations, and mitigation work along Route 1 near Gualala are being undertaken thanks to the more than $3.8 billion statewide investment.

CalFire Mendocino to Conduct Prescribed Burn East of Hopland

Lucerne Park Dredging Project Starts Next Week

The Lucerne Park dredging project will be getting underway next week. The Lake County Public Services Department said the boat launching ramp and portions of the parking lot at Lucerne Harbor Park will be closed. Public Services said the harbor hasn’t been dredged since its original construction in 1965.
