The Middletown Art Center is holding Christmas in Middletown and Posadas Navidenas this Saturday from 3 to 8 pm. There’ll be music and caroling as well as food and pinatas for kids 4-11 at 4 pm and for ages 11 and up around 7:30.
The State Water Board will meet on Wednesday and will discuss the latest progress on the Clear Lake Hitch. A flood watch goes into effect tomorrow/Friday afternoon into Saturday afternoon. Flooding due to prolonged rainfall and 2 to 5 inches of rain expected Friday through Saturday. All of Lake and Mendocino Counties are expected to be affected. Theres also an increased risk of rock and landslides along roadways.

A series of prescribed burns are scheduled for this month at the Shamrock Ranch in northern Mendocino County. The burn will treat roughly 600 acres of grassland, chaparral and understory vegetation. The Ukiah Planning Commission will consider a permit application submitted by the Redwood Credit Union on Wednesday, intended to allow conversion of the former Savings Bank of Mendocino County building on East Pernkins into new branch in Ukiah. The commission will meet tomorrow/Wednesday evening at 6 pm both online and in person.
The Lake County Planning Commission will continue its consideration of a new biochar plant on county property. The proposed plant is causing concern among the community. The commission will meet on Thursday morning to consider the issue.
