State officials say Covered California has signed up more than 1.6 million people for health insurance since the start of the pandemic. Nearly 200,000 more people have bought health insurance this year compared to the same time last year – a 14% increase. Californians have until January 31st to buy coverage.

Lake County Adds Another COVID-Related Death

Lake County reported another COVID-related death yesterday. That brings the county’s total to 27 deaths. The health department also reported 3 more hospitalizations. Mendocino County added 34 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. There are 13 people hospitalized and 2 in ICU – up 1 from Monday. ICU capacity for the Northern region is 27.5%.
