USDA Extends CalFresh Hot Foods Benefits

The U.S. Department of Agriculture approved a temporary waiver that will allow participants in the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program/CalFresh in nine California counties that have been impacted by wildfires to buy hot foods with their benefits through October 28th. This includes Mendocino County.

Governor Signs Dodd Bill That Expands Use of Prescribed Burning

Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation this week from Senator Bill Dodd, that will help prevent future loss of life and property by expanding the use of prescribed burning to control combustible fuels.
