Over 8,000 PG&E customers in Northern Mendocino County were without power early yesterday morning. PG&E said transmission lines leading to five substations were impacted by falling tree limbs due to high winds. Power was restored for most customers by 10 yesterday morning.

Mendocino County has a new wood chipper to help support fuels reduction activities in Redwood Valley and throughout the county. The chipper was purchased through a Hazardous Tree Removal grant provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection using California Climate Investments funding.
