The Middletown Area Town Hall will meet tomorrow at 7 in the Middletown Community Meeting room. Last night, the California Independent System Operator or Cal-ISO activated temporary emergency power generators deployed by the Department of Water Resources in Roseville and Yuba City. The excessive heat has prompted the California Office of Emergency Services to preposition firefighting strike teams in the area, ready to respond immediately to any fire emergency. Strike teams in Mendocino and Lake County will remain on standby until further notice.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has completed its investigation into former Ukiah Police Chief Noble Waidelich and forwarded its findings to the Mendocino County District’s Attorney’s office. The next steps regarding the case against Waidelich have yet to be determined.
