At their meeting last night, the Lakeport city council approved putting a question regarding the annexation of South Lakeport on the November ballot. By law, enough of the registered voters in the proposed annexation have questioned the act that now it must be put to a vote.

CAL Fire has announced that Monday, all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within Mendocino County will be suspended. In a statement, CAL Fire said “With the conditions set for an early start of the 2022 fire season, it is imperative that we collectively take preventative steps now to prepare.”
