Jobless Rate Down Slightly in Lake County

Although the jobless rate across the state is unchanged, Lake County unemployment dropped by a tenth of a percent last month to 6.3%. The statewide rate is holding steady at 4.4%, and despite there being no change, the Employment Development Department says the state added 8700 non-farm jobs in March.

Residential Burn Permits Required Starting May 1st

CalFire will begin requiring burn permits on May 1st for those wanting to conduct a residential or other controlled burn during warmer weather.
