Lakeport City Council Meets Tuesday

The Lakeport City Council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and will conduct a public hearing to discuss proposed regulations concerning alcohol consumption in city parks. They will also review law enforcement activities that took place during the recent July 4th celebration.

Lake County Board of Supervisors Meets Tuesday

The Lake County Board of Supervisors this week will revisit budget adjustments for the new fiscal year, discuss a proposed mobile home rent stabilization ordinance, and consider a report from a governance workshop. The‌ ‌board will meet beginning ‌at‌ ‌9‌ ‌a.m. Tuesday.

Quake Swarm Near The Geysers on Thursday

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck near The Geysers early Thursday, part of a swarm of at least six quakes magnitudes 2.6-4.0. The 4.0 quake’s shallow depth made it widely felt. No damage has been reported, but geologists are monitoring the situation.

Ukiah Resident Pursuing DA Eyster’s Recall

A Ukiah resident  is pursuing a recall of Mendocino County DA David Eyster, citing his ego and associated costs, including legal fees in the dismissed case against former Auditor Chamise Cubbison. A Ukiah woman was arrested Thursday after a high-speed chase.   Maria Gonzalez, 31,fled at 100 mph after an alleged auto burglary in Cloverdale. The pursuit ended when her vehicle hit a curb. Three sentinel animals in Lake County have tested positive for West Nile virus; they are used an early detection for mosquito-borne diseases.
