MUSD Approves Water System Reconstruction Project

The Mendocino Unified School District has given the go-ahead for its Water System Reconstruction Project.  TheMendocinoBeacon reports a grant from the state Drinking Water Revolving Fund will provide water suppy and storage improvements for the school district, which included supplying potable water to its schools, Community Center and Friendship Park. 

3.3 Quake Reported Just South of Cobb

The US Geological Service reports a magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck Lake County around 9.45 pm. The center was placed 3.4 miles south of Cobb and 68 miles west of Sacramento. There have been no reports of injuries or damage thus far.

Hot weather continues…beginning Saturday, an Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect through late Sunday for most of the Mendocino County interior as well as Lake County. Exercise caution in the heat, take precautions. Know the signs of heat illness. Be mindful of young children, pets and the elderly in the car in the heat.

The new director of the Lakeport homeless shelter has been arrested and charged with domestic violence by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
