The Lake County Board of Supervisors yesterday approved a declaration of a local emergency due to the unusually cold weather and heavy low-elevation snow. A hard freeze warning continues through this morning for the Mendocino Coast, and then a hard freeze watch will remain in effect through the weekend into the beginning of next week.
The Lake County Board of Supervisors meets today to consider approval of a local state of emergency declaration in response to the continued snow storms. The board will also consider the candidates for the position of County Counsel and the recruitment process for the position of Behavioral Health Director for the county.
The continuing snowy weather is having an impact on Lake County Public Services. Residential and commercial garbage service for South Lake Refuse and Recycling as well as Lake County Waste Solutions is canceled. The Eastlake Landfill in Clearlake is also closed.
