Bomb Threat Called In To Fort Bragg City Hall A Hoax

A bomb threat phoned into Fort Bragg’s City Hall yesterday emptied the building. Law enforcement was quick to search the building and the grounds and cleared the area. Excessive Heat Watch for Lake County and the Mendocino County Interior

There’s an Excessive Heat Watch in effect for all of Lake County and the Mendocino interior. Dangerously high temperatures are possible, as hot as 110 degrees. The heat is expected to last through Sunday. Everyone should be aware of the possibility of heat sickness. Seniors, kids, and pets should NEVER be left in a vehicle.

Hot Weather Watch for End of the Week

Looking ahead to the end of the week, the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat weather watch for most of the state, including most of the Mendocino County Interior and Lake County. Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 109 possible from Friday through the weekend.

Middletown Area Town Hall Meets Thursday Evening

The Middletown Area Town Hall meets on Thursday at 7 pm and is scheduled to hear an update on the upcoming fire season from CalFire and the Callayomi County Water District. The group will also discuss a cannabis project on Jerusalem Grade.

Lakeport Planning Commission Meets Tomorrow Evening

The Lakeport Planning Commission meets tomorrow evening at 5:30. The main item on the agenda is an application for architectural and design review sought by Lake County Tribal Health for its property at 925 Bevins Court. Approval of that application would allow for the construction of a patio, shade sturcture, restrooms and outdoor kitchen.
