Drowning in the Russian River Along Potter Valley Road

A person drowned yesterday in the Russian River. The incident, at a swimming hold along Potter Valley Road across from Cold Creek Compost, was reported late afternoon. Emergency personnel were contacted by a group of bystanders on the beach near the victim. EMS administered CPR but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mendocino County Could Lose Important Credit Rating

Mendocino County is in danger of losing its credit rating with Moody’s Investor Service. MendoFever reports a Moody’ analyst requested public records of the fiscal audit for 2022 and the county did not respond by the deadline of June 30th. The North Bay is expected to sizzle again this weekend, weather forecasters said Thursday. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the area from 11 a.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Saturday. Temperatures are set to reach the high-90s and low-100s.
