A Lake County man has been arrested on numerous charges of sexual assault of a minor. The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for the arrest of Christopher Kiger of Clearlake. Cal Fire Mendocino will be conducting prescribed burns through the 21st on about 265 acres of mixed vegetation on Brushy Mountain near Dos Rios. The project is located on privately owned land in the Eel River watershed in mid-Mendocino County. Smoke and aircraft may be visible during the burns.
In an effort to work within budget constraints, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors has voted to create one position overseeing the Public Health and Behavioral Health departments. The move had mixed support, including a warning from Dr. Andy Cohen that the two positions are too different to be managed by one person.
