A head-on collision late Sunday night in Willits injured one person and temporarily blocked a southbound lane on South Main Street. The Ukiah Police Department has recommended a misdemeanor charge of “annoying or molesting a minor” against Ukiah High School teacher Matthew P. LaFever, 37, for inappropriate online communication with a known 17-year-old. The case is now with Mendocino County District Attorney David Eyster. UPD asks minors who had online contact with LaFever to contact them.
