The Ukiah Police Department is receiving complaints about children unsafely operating electric scooters and bicycles -speeding, running stop signs, riding after dark without lights, causing near-collisions. The Anderson Valley Grange is hosting its free annual holiday potluck at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Grange Hall, in Boonville. The Lake County Rural Arts Initiative has completed its sixth year of the Teacher Art Grant Fund, supported by the Lake County Wine Alliance and 100+Women Strong. Since 2018, the all-volunteer LCRAI has distributed over 700 art grants, totaling $88,000, to teachers in Lake County schools for supplies and equipment.

On Tuesday, the Lake County Board of Supervisors will address critical fiscal issues stemming from budget shortfalls and delayed reimbursements in two major departments. The agenda includes reviewing the Community Development Department’s $390,000 loan repayment plan, scrutinizing Behavioral Health’s “fiscal recovery plan,” and considering an ordinance change to expand staff authority over bidding exemptions.

The BLM is beginning a prescribed burn today at the Point Arena-Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument, north of Point Arena.  Burning will continue safely through spring. Contact the BLM Ukiah Field Office for details.

Ukiah will host a public meeting Thursday at 5:30, to gather feedback on the Caltrans-funded School Street Transportation Multimodal Corridor Study.
