The Lake County Fire Protection District, City of Clearlake and the Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit are conducting a controlled burn today and that will continue again on the 14th through the 16th between Walmart and Cache Creek Apartments. Firefighters were able to put down a vegetation fire before it spread near Willits yesterday. The fire was seen in the area of Ridgewood Road just after 1:30 pm. Fire crews and a helicopter were requested to fight the blaze. Crews were able to put down the fire with about five total acres burned.
