Saturday, the life and service of Mendocino Superior Court Judge David Nelson was celebrated by a standing-room-only crowd at the SPACE auditorium in Ukiah. The family has established the Dave Nelson Fund to benefit health, substance abuse, and treatment with the Community Foundation of Mendocino County.

Tuesday evening at 6, the Lakeport City Council will meet new staff and start the process of determining goals for the upcoming fiscal year. The city manager will ask the council to approve the execution of a professional services agreement with Willdan Financial Services for a citywide cost-of-service fee study.
The Lake County Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday at 9 am and will consider appointments to the newly formed Big Valley Advisory Committee, formed to serve the Kelseyville Planning Area. SNAP food benefits are being sent out by the state due to power outages at the beginning of March. Mendocino County is included in the list of counties where benefits are being replaced. A Clearlake man appeared in court on charges of attempted murder and assault after a shooting near Austin Park. Treyvon Lashawn Jones was given new counsel by the court and a preliminary hearing has been set for sometime in April. Jones remains out on bail.
