Teen Killed, Four Injured in ORV Crash

A teenager is dead and four other teens injured in an off-road vehicle crash on Thursday night. CHP reports the accident occurred on private property on Schwartz Lane. Hill Fire in Willits Destroys Trailer and Burns Wildland

A fire in Willits, dubbed the Hill Fire destroyed a trailer and burned vegetation in the 800 block of East Hill Road on Wednesday. Governor Closes A Number of State of Emergency Orders

Governor Newsom late last week signed a proclamation ending 22 open states of emergency for various fires, storms, and other incidents. Several of those emergencies extend back to 2017 and were for incidents in Lake County. The declaration says emergency status is no longer necessary for response and recovery efforts.

Geiger’s Market in Hopland has closed. A statement on social media expressed gratitude for the support of the community. The CEO of Geiger’s, Michael Maciel has not responded to requests for information.

Mina Fire at 30% Containment

The Mina Fire near Covelo in Mendocino County is reported to be about 30% contained as of Tuesday night. The roughly 50-acre fire started Monday afternoon as a structure fire. Crews continue to work the blaze. Evacuation warnings remain in place for the immediate surrounding area in zone MEN-1COV01.
