Firefighters were able to put down a vegetation fire before it spread near Willits yesterday. The fire was seen in the area of Ridgewood Road just after 1:30 pm. Fire crews and a helicopter were requested to fight the blaze. Crews were able to put down the fire with about five total acres burned.
