The Lake County Fire Protection District is asking for the community’s help in locating thousands of feet of stolen fire hose and other equipment taken from the scene of the Wilkinson fire. That fire occurred on June 21st in Clearlake. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake County Fire Protection District.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting. Yesterday morning, the sheriff’s office received a report of a woman arriving at a local hospital after shooting a man who she said assaulted her. Police found the deceased man at a residence in the 12000 block of Island Circle in Clearlake Oaks.
A modular building at the Mendocino County Administration Center was burned in a fire Tuesday evening along Low Gap Road. Fire use restrictions went into effect for the Mendocino National Forest at midnight on Thursday, July 1. Restrictions include that barbeque grills using briquettes are not allowed outside of designated recreation sites. The restrictions are designed to help minimize the chances of human-caused wildland fires.
