Fatal Crash on Highway 101

U.S. Route 101 was closed near Frog Woman Rock, between Hopland and Cloverdale in both directions yesterday morning due to a head-on collision. CHP has confirmed there was a fatality in the crash. The accident occurred before 7:30 a.m. It took about three hours for both lanes of the 101 to reopen.

CAL FIRE Mendocino Unit Prescribed Burn

The CAL FIRE Mendocino Unit will be conducting a prescribed burn on state owned property at Howard Forest today and tomorrow. Burning will be conducted each day, between 10 AM until approximately 4:30 PM. This burn is to promote natural regeneration, enhance wildlife habitat, protect watershed values, and to provide training for fire personnel.
