Vietnam veterans are once again being recognized for their service today, as Welcome Home Day is being observed. The observation follows National Welcome Home Day which took place yesterday. About 10% of the war’s casualties came from California, according to the Governor’s Office. Five Lake County men were reported to have died in that war.
A prescribed burn is scheduled to take place sometime between today and Friday in 90 acres of undergrowth west of Lake Pillsbury and north of the Eel River.
